Press Release – Grand Mufti of Lebanon visit to Masjid Al Falah

On Tuesday 24th March 2015, our affiliate Masjid Al Falah hosted a visit by the Grand Mufti of Lebanon.

The Chairman of Masjid Al Falah Abdul Karim Gheewala welcomed Mufti AbdelLatif Deriane to the UK and spoke of the important contribution that Muslims have made to Britain and to British society.

Mufti AbdelLatif spoke of his admiration for the strong faith networks in Leicester, the engagement of young people and the important efforts being made in bringing communities together.

Suleman Nagdi of the Federation of Muslim Organisations said “we now more than ever, need to engage with other communities and to invite others to learn about Islam. It is important to differentiate between government polices and thirst for sensational reporting by some sections of the media”.
